Who says it has to be your way or the highway; one way or the other? There is always a middle ground (no man’s land!) to be found. When attending an Indian Wedding, one doesn’t have to go for the ultimate traditional or chic style. Just like alloys enhance jewelry, fusion wear –where in cultural values and modern lifestyle meet- is an enticing option for an Indian Wedding Reception. Let’s take a look at some sizzling trends:

Traditional Gowns + Laced Stole:

The charm of gowns has been reaffirmed very often on the red carpets. Why not wear one to an Indian Reception? The fusion of gold aari work (a type of embroidery), anarkali suits and the champagne gowns would set you apart at the reception. A high neckline with net, tube neck (would kill the fusion element though!) or a boat neckline would look lovely during the nights.

Fancy Jacket + Jodhpuri Pants:

From a politician's attire to finding its way on the shelves of designer stores, the traditional coats/ jackets have come a full circle. High brow Indian ethnic fashion stores are resplendent with such waistcoats and jackets. With floral designs and bright combinations (sea green and peacock blue, anyone?); these jackets will exemplify a man’s modest kurta. To stylize it further, a slim fitting pair (below the knees) of Jodhpuri pants in pastel colors is recommended.

Sexy Blouse + Gorgeous Saree:

A rightly draped saree can be one of the most elegant pieces of outfits ever. This traditional 9 yards long clothing could be paired with a sexy, ultra-modern blouse for a fusion touch. Digital prints and georgette sarees with intricate work are a must-try. Some bold blouse styles to try are Noodle Straps, Backless (more suitable for lehenga sarees) and the ever-sultry Halter neck.

Designer Kurta + Arabic Pathani Pants:

A well fitting designer kurta with studded collars and stone work will definitely bring you to the limelight - whether you are dancing in the baraat or welcoming one. A knee-length, short kurta with printed fabric should be paired with a pathani trousers. This will set you apart from the men in sherwanis. Let us know how this royal look works out for you!
