I am so excited about how this project turned out! It's one of those rare DIY projects that anyone can do (even if you have no crafting skills),and you can make it as simple or as fancy as you want. It's also a great way to get the perfect favors to match your wedding colors and themes without breaking the bank.

{The beauty of a DIY favor is the little imperfections. I loaded my stamp a little too much with paint here, but still love the finished product.}

So you want to know how I created these beauties...

Supplies:

Round decorative wooden cut-outs (I picked these up from Michaels and they had several other round designs)
Different colors of acrylic paint
Paintbrushes
Stamps (if you want to add a saying in the centre)
Acrylic sealer

Method:

Start by painting your coasters in pattern of 2-3 colors. I painted these free-hand with a detail brush, but you could always tape off the area that you are not painting for a more precise look. Personally, I think DIY favors should be rustic and a little imperfect.

After your coaster has dried, you can use a stamp to add a fun message or the bride & grooms names to the center of your coaster. Advance warning; you won't get a uniform look with stamps, and each coaster will be slightly different depending on the amount of paint you use and the pressure you apply.

Once you are satisfied with your coasters you can finish them with an acrylic sealer making them water resistant. You can use either a spray or liquid sealer, just be sure to do it in a well ventilated area. I chose to use a matte sealer, but you can use glossy if you like a slightly shiny look.
