Most brides these days have a bridal registry, but what if you want to give your friend or cousin a really personalized wedding gift? I was in the same boat a few weeks ago when attending an engagement party. We had gotten a gift card for our friends, but I still wanted something to wrap - something meaningful. That's when the idea for the Bollywood quote frame came to me. A fun way to capture one of my friend's favourite Bollywood songs, and create a special gift.

Directions:

Start by choosing your saying and laying out the letters in the position you would like them. My frames were only suitable for a 5x7 picture so I went with shorter sayings. Not sure what quote/word to choose? Here are a few fun ideas:

Dil Vil Pyar Vyar
Aashiqui
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Meray Dil Mein Khayal Ata Hai
Tu Mujhe Kabool Main Tujhe Kabool
Rab Ne Baniya Mujhe Teray Liye Tujhe Meray Liye

Depending on how 'perfect' you want your frame to look, you can use some painter's tape as a guide for placing the letters. If you like a free hand look you can skip this step.

Once you are happy with the placement of your letters, glue them down with some carpenters glue. Each brand has different drying times, but I always give a glue based project 24-48 hours to be sure it's really sturdy.

Once your letters are firmly in place you can paint! I decided to keep my colour palette very neutral. I think this helps create a polished look, and can fit in with whatever decorating style/colours the new couple chooses for their living space.

(The beige frame is painted Buttercream by Americana, and the purple is Wisteria also by Americana)

I painted this frame a very neutral shade. Wouldn't it look adorable on someone's desk at work?

Once you are happy with your finished product, you can spray it with an acrylic sealer if you like. Just remember to choose a matte finish and spray outdoors. An acrylic sealer will make it more durable and water resistant.
